The Scottish Festival...

This weekends activity...Interesting and entertaining and that was just Tim and Matt!!!We have been trying to go to the Scottish festival for a few years now and have never made it for one reason or several...but this year we were finally able to go. We walked around the booths, ate some bad gut wrenching food and laughed at the interesting people who showed up for the festivities. There were the expected kilts, but also the unexpected cloaks and interesting combination of clothing. I love going to things like this...people watching brings me joy!!!
Tim is one of those interesting people that brings me joy...doesn't he make you smile?

Matt laughing at Tim (of course) and Tori eating some really good popcorn

Need I say more?

On Saturday night everyone came over for dinner and a Movie. Tori and Matt have been telling us for a while how good 'Forever Strong' is but non of us had seen it. So after dinner and laughing at weddng pictures/video we watch it.
I have to say that they were right-it was one of the better movies I have seen in a long time.
I am so grateful for a family that loves spending time together, we have such a great time...
BUT we miss Randy, Jenny and the kids a ton!!!

The most tangible of all visible mysteries-fire

After Lance and Kendra's wedding most of the family left town. Lance and Kendra of course went on their honeymoon to Florida. Jenny and Randy decided to go back to Randy's mission in Germany after scoring a great price on tickets. And most importantly for Tori, Matt, Tim and I was that Diet and Myrna left with the 5th wheel to check on Diet's workers in the northwestern states....So that left us here to get creative with our entertainment.

Diet has been telling the boys for two years that they could not have a firepit in front of the house, well the second that he left we decided that it was a good time to make this sweet purchase; And have we ever got our moneys worth. We are out there at least three times a week roasting hot dogs and marshmellows. It has been some cheap, quality entertainment.

Matt and Tim not use to the stress of shopping took a short break.

Is it possible to go through Lowes without sitting on the lawn mowers!?

Does this look white trash...I think not!!!

For Memorial day this year we went up to Bear Lake...It may seem like we spend a great deal of time up there, but really my life isn't very exciting and Bear Lake is just different scenery from SLC!
The weekend was wonderful!! There were thunder and lightening storms that were fantastic!! I love being inside the house all cozy while the weather outside is wild!! One would think that golfing would have been cancelled due to weather...but that was not the case. I will never understand the pull, but it is not for me to understand and I am glad the boys enjoyed themselves.
On Sunday night we decided to have have a fire and make S'mores. My parents bought a new fire pit and it was so much fun to sit around it. On Sunday night it was no surprise when the wood for the fire was wet. My dad got out the magic fire fluid and poured it on the wood in hopes to encourage it to burn. It sputtered and died within minutes...so my dad added some more fluid...as he did fire blazed back to life and then once again died-- this process continued over and over for quit some time. My mother did not approve of my dad's fire starting method and kept telling him to stop it...he didn't and the fire eventually flaired to life and we had a very enjoyable time roasting marsh mellows until the rain once again drove us inside!!
Amanie wanted grandpa to feed her her S'mores.

Harley went to Grandma and did not want to leave her!! Amanie and Harlie also thought it would be fun to wear my flip flops around.

SoSomething old, something new, something borrowed and something blue

I am back...at least for a moment. Life has been very busy and a few things have happened that are even interesting enough to blog about! As soon as finals and Clinicals ended, family events began. Kendra and Lance were married on May 13 in the SLC Temple. The day turned out beautiful. Kendra was a gorgeous bride and Lance was a very handsome groom. During the ceremony were heard a weird banging on the temple, we quietly joked that it was Brad. We found out later that it was infact Brad knocking on the windows of the Temple--he just didn't want us to forget he was there waiting for us!!

Mt Dew, Pepsi and Diet Coke...Of course there was contraband at the reception...weren't there Fischers attending!? Grandpa Hans even got in on the action, and insisted I take a picture of it!!!

Every member of the reception line was also in on the action.

The boys (Fischer of course) went to the grocery store to buy the items to decorate the bride and groom's car. In Kendra's honor they went with the theme "Sandwich"....because if your man isn't horney make him a sandwich...
The exterior of the car was covered with lettuce, an actual sandwich on the front window and even cookies for dessert; then shrink wrapped for freshness.

It was a wonderful day!! We are so excited to have Kendra in the family-she is fabulous!! And the more estrogen the better in this family--we women need all the help we can get!
